The Local Organising Committee of
the SADC Water Week in Tanzania has appointed TRUYA G/Secretary Mr Emanuel
Alfred as the designated National Focal Point to lead in a scoping study to provide a situational analysis that includes a detailed outline of role
players involved in youth involvement in the environment, water and sanitation
sector at the country level. Congratulation for such an appointment.
This year, 2015, the SADC Water Division working
together with Member States will be holding National Water Weeks in all
countries of the region. Among other activities lined up on the programme of
these national water weeks will be national youth water fora. These fora are
envisaged to bring together youth stakeholders, at the national level, to work
together in mapping the way forward for youth involvement in the water sector
within the country. The national youth fora are to draw upon the draft SADC
Youth Strategy, the RSAP III, the AMCOW Policy and Strategy on Mainstreaming
Youth in the Water and Sanitation Sector and the AMCOW Triennial Plan as well
make input into the formulation of the SADC RSAP IV.
